ItвЂ™s a compelling story that will give you the necessary motivation to play multiplayer - and thatвЂ™s the purpose of a good single-player campaign story. You fight as each of the characters and then the narrative returns to Berlin at the end of the war, where you have to unite together and fight as a team against the Nazis as they make their last stand. Not only do you get to fight in battles that were the turning points of WWII, you get to see them through the eyes of a multinational group of soldiers who form Task Force One of the Special Forces. The acting performances are top notch.ДЄs each of the Special Forces soldiers are interrogated, we shift into their shoes and play through the campaign chapters that flashback to the crucibles of fire that turned them into fierce soldiers worthy of the Special Forces. He is the chief interrogator of the SS and the secret architect of the mysterious Project Phoenix. TheyвЂ™re captured and come face to face with a pretty good villain in Hermann Wenzel Freisinger, an ambitious and arrogant Nazi officer working at the GestapoвЂ™s headquarters.

The team has to figure out whatвЂ™s going on in the belly of the beast, the heart of Nazi-controlled Berlin. The game starts out in Germany toward the end of the war, when a team of special soldiers goes after the NaziвЂ™s most fervent extremists as they try to execute Project Phoenix. That could have been a mess if it werenвЂ™t for the narrative threads that tied everyone together. In the single-playerВ campaign built by Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: VanguardвЂЇdelivers a similar tale of four different Special Forces soldiers from different countries, genders, and races. It gave us a variety of gameplay, but no compelling story tied all of the narratives together.

And luckily, with this new trailer, zombies fans will not have to wait long to exploreВ Mauer Der Toten. Five months may seem like a long time to go between major updates for zombies fans, but it is better late than never. Mauer Der Toten will be the fourth zombies map to be released with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and the first since Firebase Z, which was released in February. Some fans also caught what appears to be the Mule Kick perk, which allows players to equip a third weapon. Some have speculated this zombie could be harnessing the Dark Aether in order to power up its zombie allies. In the trailer, there also appears to be a zombie that forms a chain with others nearby.

Points of interest shown include the rooftops of several ruined buildings, a large town square, several smaller streets, and an underground subway train. The map appears to quite sizeable, with plenty of verticality that players can use to either get a vantage point or maneuver to evade the zombies. The trailer features a cyborg ally named Klaus, other robots who may or may not be able to assist the player in surviving the undead, futuristic ray guns, and modern weapons. However, this installment is clearly not taking players back in time like Warzone's Verdansk '84 map did. The trailer, posted on the official Call of Duty Youtube channel, sees the player characters dropped into a Berlin that is overrun by zombies, many sporting the Nazi uniforms in a nod back to the original 'Nazi Zombies' mode from World at War. The resulting fallout of this nuke was a brand new Warzone map that brought players back to 1984 and introduced new operators based on 80s action movies. For instance, the recent Warzone nuclear event saw the Verdansk map being nuked in response to the zombies incursion. In recent installments of the series, though, the mode has become increasingly more intertwined with the multiplayer and battle royale experience in Call of Duty. The zombies mode has been a ubiquitous part of the Call of DutyВ experience going all the way back to 2008's Call of Duty: World at War.

The newest zombies map will be available as a free update on July 15 as part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War mid-season update.

The trailer features a brand new map, Mauer Der Toten, which sees players returning to Berlin to fight the onslaught of zombie hordes. Fans of the popular zombies mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War received a special treat with the recent release of a new trailer.
